Earwigs

Earwig

Earwigs are long (1/5” – 1”) narrow black bugs identified by inwardly curved pinchers attached to their abdomen.

Earwigs, although ugly, are not dangerous or venomous. They can pinch and cause irritation to the skin when they feel threatened and can release a foul smell in self-defense.

What are they

They typically like dark damp areas and can be found in basements and crawl spaces of homes. They typically search for food at night, creeping in plants and bushes.
