Tick Awareness Week: What You Need to Know About Tick Disease and Prevention
Read More
Rodents may be small and furry, but that doesn’t mean they’re harmless. Actually, it's quite the opposite! When they invade homes or businesses, mice and rats can cause many serious problems. Rodents will chew on anything they can get their teeth on, including your walls, insulation, pipe, ductwork, and wiring. They’ll also contaminate your home with feces, exposing you and your family members and pets or your employees and customers to serious illnesses. They’ll also introduce parasites like fleas and ticks into your home or business.
Keeping rodents out of your building doesn’t have to be complicated. With years of experience treating and preventing rodent problems, Pestmaster® Services has perfected the rodent control process.
Rodent infestations are often identified by home and business owners without the help of a professional pest control technician. When rodents invade, you can often hear them inside your walls, and they leave behind the telltale signs of their presence on your counters and in your cupboards.
Even so, having a rodent inspection performed prior to treatment is always a good decision. This review allows Pestmaster® Services to identify entry points and harborage areas, determine the size and extent of the infestation, and identify factors that are contributing to your rodent problem. This information allows us to target our Integrated Pest Management methods to your particular situation.
Rodent infestations often require several levels of treatment to eliminate the current infestation, ensure the health and safety of the people and pets on your property, and prevent a future infestation from occurring.
Depending on your specific rodent problem, we may use one or a combination of the following rodent control and exclusion services:
To help prevent rodent problems, we'll set up secure bait stations in strategic locations around the exterior of your building. These rodent bait boxes are monitored and checked regularly.
Depending on the situation, we may use snap traps or live traps. Snap traps are used only when necessary but are preferred to glue boards, as they reduce suffering. If we set live traps, we check them daily.
ContraPest is a fertility control solution to help to keep rodent populations down, while also stopping the rebound effect. Since rodents reproduce at an incredibly fast rate, using ContraPest as part of our Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy helps provide a long-term solution to rodent control.
Rodent removal is included as part of our rodent control service. We'll also remove the droppings and nests we find within your home or business.
Sanitizing infected areas is an essential step in the rodent control process. Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS) is a serious illness that can spread through the airborne particles of rodent urine, feces, and saliva. To reduce this risk factor, we will treat the affected areas with a virus and bacteria-killing product and deodorizer.
Sealing entry points is a vital step in preventing future rodent infestations. Rats can squeeze through holes the size of a nickel and mice can fit through holes the size of a dime, so not even the smallest areas should be overlooked. Pestmaster® Services offers exclusion work from ground-level to rooftop entry points.
In some cases, the insulation in your home or business can become so damaged that we cannot salvage it. In this case, removal is necessary for the health of the people in the building. During this process, we will remove the damaged insulation and install pest-resistant insulation in its place.
At Pestmaster® Services, we guarantee our rodent control services. We provide free trouble calls if your rodent problem returns after we’ve eliminated it. Our exclusion work has a one-year service warranty in addition to any manufacturer warranties included on the equipment or materials we use.
